Students Present Research at New Haven Section American Chemical Society Symposium; Shaina Errico, Chemistry, Class of 2019, Wins Third Prize

Shaina Errico

Senior Chemistry major Shaina Errico received a third place prize for her research poster at the Fourth Annual Student Research Symposium hosted by the New Haven Section of the American Chemical Society held at Yale University in New Haven on Saturday, April 13.  Her poster was entitled “Evaluating Protein Structure and Stability Using Intrinsic Tryptophan Fluorescence.”  Her research mentor was Dr. Rajintha Bandaranayake.

Other students presenting posters were Senior Chemistry major Anh Do, whose poster was entitled “Synthesis of N-Vanillyl-8-methyl-6-noneneimide via N-Akylation Procedure” (Dr. Kent Marshall, mentor)

Dr. James Kirby and Natasha Shah

Sophomore Chemistry major Natasha Shah, whose poster was entitled “Cation Effect on the Redox Properties of a Europium-Bridged Polytungstate” (Dr. James Kirby, mentor).
