COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES UNDERGRADUATE PRIZE COMPETITION 2019-2020
The members of the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Prize Committee would like to announce the annual undergraduate prize competition to recognize the finest work completed during the past year in Liberal Arts and Sciences classes. Works will be judged based on their intellectual or creative content, on their degree of originality, and on the manner in which these elements are presented in keeping with the standards for the relevant field or genre. All works submitted for credit within the College of Arts and Sciences are eligible for the prize. Group work submissions are welcome and encouraged. Submissions may be in any genre or media within the College of Arts and Sciences and include but are not limited to: research and term papers; research projects and reports; works of creative art or drama; computer programs; or works of fiction or poetry. The work must have been undertaken during the past academic year (works submitted for the Spring 2019 semester are eligible if they were due for credit after April 16th of 2019). All work must have contributed in some way to the students’ course of study. Deadline for submissions is Thursday, April 16th 2020 at Noon. HOWEVER, ENTRIES CAN BE SUBMITTED AT ANY TIME UNTIL THE DEADLINE. The awards ceremony is scheduled for April 28th.
The CAS Prize committee will select the best quality work and name six finalists from the Arts and from the Sciences to participate in the awards ceremony. The prize winners will be announced at the awards ceremony. The three top finalists from each group will receive a certificate plus a $200 prize for first place, $150 prize for second place, and $100 prize for third place. The remaining finalists from each group will receive a certificate and a $75 prize.
