At Quinnipiac University, a College of Arts & Sciences education is an active learning experience that cultivates your core talents and interests and tailors them to real-world ambitions, setting you up for a spectrum of practical opportunities while you are a student, and employment options upon graduation. That process is what our 360-Degree Advising model is all about. Our approach begins on day-one and seamlessly integrates your academic and career development, helping you pair the right course sequence with applied learning opportunities outside of the classroom.

What is 360 Degree Advising?
We’ve built our 360 Advising Process based on the idea that every experience you have can have an impact on your academic journey and your career. The process of exploration, implementation, and reflection is central to the idea of 360 advising. Each experience becomes a point of learning that helps you evaluate your development as a student and as a person; helps you understand your values, interests and goals; and helps you make informed choices about your academic and career options during your time here and beyond.

Why is Integrated and Interdisciplinary Thinking important?
Integrated and Interdisciplinary Thinking is emphasized in every major, equipping students with knowledge and problem solving tools needed in today’s workforce.
Studying in different disciplines expands your intellectual toolkit and allows you to bring insights and knowledge from one area and apply it to another. You aren’t just learning subjects, you are learning skills.

Why is Applied and Experiential Learning critical to your education?
Experiential learning opportunities give you the chance to take your previous classroom learning out into the world and test it out, or to try something entirely new and perhaps develop a new academic interest.
This process of exploration, implementation, and reflection is central to the idea of 360 advising. Each experience becomes a point of learning that helps you evaluate your development as a student and a person; helps you understand your values, interests and goals; and helps you make informed choices about your next steps during your time here and beyond.
