Gerontology is the study of aging and older adults. In our multi-disciplinary program, you will gain knowledge and practical skills as you prepare for a career addressing the needs of older adults in the community.

You’ll complete two required semester-long internships in the community. Choose from working directly with older adults, working with programs, or working on policy and advocacy.

    Gerontology majors often choose careers as activity directors, counselors and care managers, or assist seniors and their families in finding social service programs and other resources. The gerontology major also paves the way to graduate study in such fields as social work, nursing or other health-related occupations, law and public health.
