BU Summer Prelaw Academy (BU-SPLA): Informational Webinar
We are excited to announce that in summer 2025, we will again host the 4th BU Summer Prelaw Academy (BU-SPLA). This four-week residential program counters structural and environmental forces that unevenly tax underrepresented students in the legal profession. Boston University School of Law is proud to participate in this exciting and innovative program. Our previous programs were enormously successful, and we are incredibly excited to host a new cohort of students this summer.BU-SPLA will expose students to foundational law school coursework, critical race theory, and experiential learning. Students will also learn about the law school admissions process and be mentored while working on a personal statement, an optional statement, and a resume. And, of course, students will enjoy social outings in Boston and have the opportunity to build community with their peers. BU Law faculty and staff will come together to welcome, teach, and support BU-SPLA students and offer a glimpse into what it is like to be a student at BU Law.There is no cost to apply to or attend the program. Travel to and from Boston, housing during the program, and many meals will be covered. The program will host several social events on campus and outings in Boston. Additionally, all participants who complete the program will receive a $1500 stipend.BU-SPLA will be held at BU Law’s modern, spacious law complex from June 3–27, 2025. The application is now open, and the deadline to apply is March 15, 2025.This is an amazing opportunity. If you would like to know more, BU Law will hold an informational webinar on Monday, February 10th, to answer questions. The link to register is below.
