Hofstra Law’s Edge Ahead Program
Hofstra Law’s Edge Ahead Program is a three-week immersive summer program designed to help students interested in law school feel more confident and prepared for their first semester—whether they plan to attend Hofstra or any other law school. Our goal is to provide students with a strong foundation in key law school skills, equipping them with the tools to excel from day one.Through a carefully curated curriculum, Edge Ahead helps students:
Gain exposure to core 1L subjects: Torts and Legal Writing
Develop essential academic skills: case briefing, note-taking, outlining, and exam strategies
Experience real law school coursework and receive personalized feedback
Build confidence in their ability to succeed in law school
Connect with law professors, practicing attorneys, and judges through our speaker series
The first week of the program (July 7-10) is held in person at Hofstra Law, offering an immersive classroom experience with networking opportunities.Students from the New York City and Long Island area are especially encouraged to attend, as this is a convenient and accessible way to gain an early edge in law school preparation. The second and third weeks (July 14-25) continue virtually, allowing students flexibility while engaging in substantive legal coursework. Our past participants consistently say that Edge Ahead helped them start law school with confidence, allowing them to adapt more easily to the demands of their first semester.Whether you plan to attend Hofstra or another law school within the next two years, this program provides you with an undeniable advantage as you take your first steps toward a legal career.I encourage you to share this opportunity with your students who are considering law school so they can begin their journey feeling well-prepared and supported. They can learn more and register at law.hofstra.edu/EdgeAhead.
