We’re looking for Volunteers for our Terrapin Tracking Team! Join us for a virtual training session on March 28 to learn all about data collection and protocols to monitor coastal roadways.
Diamondback Terrapins are a State Listed Species of Concern in Connecticut, and one of the biggest threats these animals face is getting hit by a car while crossing the road to their nesting site. During this entirely virtual training, participants will be trained on data collection and protocols to monitor roadways for evidence of diamondback terrapin mortality. Once trained, volunteers will be assigned a roadway to monitor weekly from April through August.
