The LEARN Student Support Services Department has an opening for a full time Special Education Teacher in our middle school social/emotional/behavioral program for at our Ocean Avenue LEARNing Academy in New London. The successful candidate must possess an understanding of and an appreciation for special education, knowledge of best practice, curriculum instruction and assessment. Must be able to encourage students to work to the best of their abilities and to take pride in their achievements, providing a stimulating environment in which students learn, interact and grow academically, socially and emotionally. Bachelor’s Degree and CT Comprehensive Special Education Certification (065, 165) and/or Integrated Early Childhood/Special Ed.(112, 113) required.
