TITLE: DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
HOURS: 40HRS/WK, SOME WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS
SALARY: $56,000 -$60,000
Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) builds inclusive communities that span generations and cultures to prevent and relieve isolation and loneliness. Our intergenerational programs bring students and older adults together for weekly social activities in senior housing buildings across Boston. These programs provide opportunities for older adults to meaningfully engage with their neighbors and community. LBFE believes that everybody has something to teach and learn, give and receive.
We are seeking a vibrant, curious, and motivated Director of Development to improve LBFE’s fundraising capabilities to support the organizational goal of building more relationships that span generations and cultures. The Director of Development (DoD) will work with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and staff to implement the development strategic plan for the organization to ensure that fundraising goals are met.
â— Work with the ED and Board to manage relationships with prospective and current donors through customized communication and follow-up involving donor visitation, tours, direct mail, phone, and email
â— Meet with donors, build relationships, and ask for donations
â— Manage and execute our annual fundraising event, Friends on the Harbor in September. This includes chairing the event committee made up of board members and volunteers, working with the ED to solicit and cultivate sponsors, manage vendors, and promote ticket sales
â— Work with our mail house vendor to manage all aspects of LBFE's direct mail and online giving program (seasonal and EOY appeals, monthly donor communication)
â— Help develop fundraising collateral and stakeholder messaging that attracts long-term investment
â— Manage fundraising database and create reports for ED, Board, and funders
â— Bachelor's degree or 1-3 years relative experience in development, sales, event management or nonprofits
â— Ability to multi-task effectively and maintain focus on top priorities
â— Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously
â— Excellent interpersonal skills that translate to all of LBFE's different stakeholders combined with outstanding oral and written communication skills

LBFE is a team of 4 full-time staff and a small army of student volunteers and interns.
