What We Can Achieve Together:
The Logistical Assistant will be responsible for providing logistical support services to the external affairs program during the 83rd Legislature. They will help with scheduling meetings, correspondence, communications, and tracking bills. They may be asked to secure office and/or project supplies and assist with field activities, as needed. The Assistant will have frequent interaction with TNC staff, Legislative Counsel Bureau staff, and other organizations and entities throughout the program. This position may require travel occasionally to support legislative activities in Carson City. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
This is a temporary 20 hour per week position starting approximately January 21, 2025, and ending June 13, 2025. Wage for this position is $ 20.00/hour.

We promote policies and programs to protect groundwater dependent ecosystems. We seek to ensure that renewable energy is deployed with a smart-from-the-start approach that minimizes adverse impacts to nature and people. We engage in efforts to protect lands and waters, provide resiliency for people and nature, tackle climate change, and advance environmental justice.
As a logistical assistant, you will be responsible for tracking the progress of bill draft requests and bills during the legislative session; tracking the schedule of committee meetings relevant to legislative priorities; assisting with the preparation of legislative briefings, talking points, FAQs, fact sheets, and other communication pieces for internal and external audiences; assisting with the preparation of testimonies and public comment for legislative hearings; attending legislative committee meetings to take notes; assisting with the development of correspondence and informational materials for legislators; assisting with scheduling meetings with legislative offices; conducting background research on proposed bills; attending weekly team meetings to discuss progress and actions for legislative priorities.

- Ability to learn procedures and follow instructions.
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to research and summarize policy issues including reading and analysis of proposed legislation.
