The DF/HCC & PICI Post-Bacc Scholar program is welcoming applications for a position beginning May 2025. The program is open to recent college graduates from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds who are preparing to continue their education and scholarship at graduate or medical school.
A full-time, paid training experience, the program will match scholars with a DFCI PICI faculty member to conduct hands-on cancer immunology research projects that provide training needed to successfully apply to and complete competitive graduate or medical school programs.
In collaboration with the CURE program at DF/HCC, the robust experience will also include comprehensive preparation and support in professional development and applying for graduate school. This post-bacc will join a cohort of 3-4 other trainees who are in their first and second years of programming. Other activities will include presenting research in a variety of contexts, serving as near-peer mentors for high school and undergraduate trainees, and participating in/facilitating journal clubs.
We are looking for students who have a demonstrated interest in cancer immunology research and plan to pursue an advanced degree within that field. Previous lab experience is recommended.
