Becca Levy speaks with Gerontology students

In February, internationally renowned scholar Becca Levy discussed her innovative research and her book “Breaking the Age Code: How Your Beliefs About Aging Determine How Long and Well You Live” at an event sponsored by QU’s Age-Friendly University Collaborative. Gerontology program director, Catherine Solomon, is one of the founding members of the collaborative.

Gerontology seniors Kevin Clark, Jada Dennis, and Carly Stempel attended and were able to network with experts in the field such as Donna Fedus of Borrow My Glasses,  Jennifer McCaughey of Hartford HealthCare’s Center for Healthy Aging, and Becca Levy.

There is such a need for practitioners in the aging field and for increased knowledge about ageism and later life. Quinnipiac is a leader by being one of few universities in the U.S. to offer a Gerontology major to educate students about these important issues.
