The way recruiting and hiring happen has changed. You must change with it.
The things employers look for in internship and full-time candidates, and the way they find candidates, has changed significantly in the last few years. In fact, the entire process is constantly evolving and you must evolve as well. Simply applying on job search websites like Indeed or CareerBuilder is no longer enough. Sending out 1,000 generic resumes to big employers is no longer enough. To get hired—in a job you want, earning a decent salary—you must present yourself impeccably and stand out from the crowd by virtue of not just your skills and experience, but also your effort and approach to the process.
What do we know?
- Somewhere between 60-80% of jobs are never advertised on standard job search websites
- Effectively communicating the skills and experience you can offer through online hiring systems used by most larger corporations is virtually impossible
So, what can we do about it?
