The Intern will work with PepsiCo’s Global Sustainable Agricultural, Global Procurement, and/or Brand Marketing teams on projects related to PepsiCo’s agriculture sustainability programs. Assignments may include, depending on capabilities & interests of the student:

  1. Research as to why students choose or do not choose careers in production agriculture and related fields. Projects may include developing a business case for a brand to use its social platforms to encourage youth to explore careers in production farming and related fields.

 

  1. Formulation of a strategy for engaging African American youth in agriculture. Assignments may include research into how other such efforts have succeeded or failed and best practices for a corporate entity to engage in supporting next generation Black farmers.

 

  1. Conducting a landscape assessment of innovation, technology & implementation partners that could be leveraged to support our efforts to build resilience to climate change and support livelihoods in agriculture to encourage the next generation of farmers

 

  1. Supporting the development of Positive Agriculture action plans to guide progress toward our commitments to regenerative agriculture, sustainable sourcing, livelihoods, and GHG emissions reductions

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in: agriculture (other related majors will be considered)
  • Working knowledge of agricultural in the United States or global agricultural supply chains
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Keen interest in sustainability
  • Energetic self-starter who can quickly establish a cross functional network

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications – Each candidate is expected to:

  • Graduate with Bachelor’s degree within one (1) year of internship completion
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Future Farmers of America experience
