Mathematics Majors FAQs
What will I study?
All math majors take calculus, linear algebra, and upper-level abstract algebra, advanced calculus, and electives.
Many math majors pursue a second academic interest, either the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program, a second major, or a minor. Recent double majors and minors include Economics, Spanish, Finance, Computer Science, Psychology, English, Chemistry, and History.
Why choose math at QU?
The Mathematics Department is committed to students. You will be taught by accomplished faculty whose primary focus is teaching and are also experts in their field. We have about 50 math majors and 50 math minors at QU. This means that you will have small classes and plenty of opportunity to interact with your professors and other students.
