Pfizer Summer Growth Program

Overview

Thank you for your interest in Pfizer’s 2024 Summer Growth Experience (SGE), formerly Summer Student Worker Program. This program is jointly managed by Pfizer and Atrium Works. The SGE provides short-term work to support Pfizer’s business needs during the summer months. The program seeks to add value to the business through staff augmentation to accomplish departmental goals while offering practical and valuable business experience to the student participant. Interns will be employed by Atrium Works.

Available Job Categories

SGE JC Graphic

Clinical Research

Student may have the opportunity to work with MDs & PhDs to learn the global clinical trial process, assisting with writing protocol, data analysis, meeting minutes, preparing for presentations, interacting with disease experts, vendors and study sites and etc.

Digital and IT

Students may support the design, development, deployment and/or support of cutting-edge systems and tools that are critical to our business. Examples of projects(s) may include: Application data clean-up, application testing, web application development, reports development, database development and project management.  May include one or more of these experiences.

Finance

An intern within the Finance function may provide support for business unit financial initiatives. Project work could include areas such as budgeting, forecasting, and evaluation work. Students may have exposure/provide support in other areas such as pricing issues and risk management.

General Business

General Business interns may be involved in providing project management support for Pfizer businesses. Project work could include building capabilities of colleagues through the creation of training materials and supporting resources; conducting online research & competitive analysis, creating and organizing relevant materials for business meetings; developing project management processes and approaches.

Human Resources/ People Experience

Human Resource interns may be involved in providing project management support for Pfizer businesses. HR Project work could include building capabilities of colleagues through the creation of training materials and supporting resources; Talent Acquisition, Global Recruiting Operations, creating and organizing relevant materials Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; developing project management processes and approaches.

Legal

Legal operations interns may be involved in providing project management support for the Pfizer legal department. Project work could include building capabilities of colleagues through the creation of training materials and supporting resources; conducting online research & competitive analysis, creating and organizing relevant materials for business meetings; developing project management processes and approaches.

Marketing

A marketing intern may provide project support in the local planning/execution for health fairs, local partnership events and regional conventions. Project work could also include the design of newsletter communications/content and research of digital/on-line innovative strategies to reach business goals for priority brands.

Mathematical/Statistical Research

Students will be responsible for projects involving statistical analysis, related data review and programming tasks or statistical research.

Medical Affairs

The Medical Affairs Intern will assist team members in conducting and summarizing medical literature searches and assisting in the development of medical information.

Manufacturing / Operations / Supply Chain Management

Students may support the organization in inventory analysis, development of product, processes and systems flows, data gathering with the different markets involved in the projects as well as development of project plans.

Regulatory Affairs

A Regulatory Submissions intern may have the opportunity to work on regulatory submission milestones and maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory obligations. Position can also include exposure to industry regulations/quality standards and the technological aspects of submission management.

Science/ Lab Based

Students perform experiments in the laboratory and/or plant environment. The student will work closely with a supervisor to develop fundamental laboratory skills, perform manual and computer literature searches and maintain accurate collection and recording of experimental results. The student will provide scientific support for a specific research proposal submitted by their supervisor. Opportunities may include but are not limited to: Assay development, compound management, tissue culture, histology, biomarker analysis, small molecule structural analysis, protein expression, protein characterization, drug formulation development and analysis, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics and organic synthesis.

Science/R&D

Students support non-lab projects. Examples may include: virtual compound screening, patient advocacy, data management, imaging, non MD clinical study supp

Minimum Qualifications

In order to be eligible, you must:

  • Be immediately authorized to work in the U.S. This Program can not support applicants who require employer sponsored visas now or in the future.
  • Be at least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Be enrolled currently and immediately following the summer at an accredited college/university
  • Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA as of the most recently completed semester
  • Be able to commute 4+ days a week to a Pfizer site

If I apply, when will I know if I am selected?

Given the highly competitive nature of the program, we cannot guarantee that all applicants will be placed. We conduct interviews on a rolling basis; students are contacted if they are selected by managers for an interview. Interviews typically occur between October and mid-February. Applicants who are not selected for a position will be notified via email once all roles are filled. Communications are delivered to the email address you provide when you register. An Applicant Tracking System is utilized to issue these emails so, please be sure to check your inbox or spam folder frequently.

 

When do the assignments begin and end?

Typically, assignments begin in May and last through August, depending on business needs and your availability.

What is the pay rate?

Pay Rate Range: $25/hr to $29/hr

This job posting is for a temporary role as an employee of Atrium on assignment at Pfizer. The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, educational degree obtained, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law.

In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
